Electric car sales are increasing in Europe
Fully electric electric cars now account for 7.5 percent of the market in Europe during April to June this year, according to the European car sales organization ACEA. This is an increase from 3.5 percent during the corresponding period last year.
A total of 210,298 electric cars were sold in Europe during the period. Especially in Spain and Germany, electric car sales have increased.
Hybrid cars that can not be charged externally increased a lot, the market share is now 19.3 percent. Rechargeable hybrid cars are also increasing, the increase is 8.4 percent during the quarter.
Petrol and diesel are declining
But petrol and diesel cars significantly reduced their market shares during the quarter.
The market share of diesel cars decreased from 29.4 to 20.4 percent. The market share of petrol cars is still the largest, but fell from 51.9 to 41.8 percent of the European market during April to June this year.
