Already on Thursday evening, Slack stated that the service has not been subjected to an attack – instead, the concerns are linked to DNS problems. The domain name system, DNS, is used, among other things, to translate domain names into IP addresses. For example, the domain name nyteknik.se can be translated to the IP address 52.208.207.74.

The DNS problem should be fixed, but the problems can remain because DNS addresses are cached in the networks and can therefore remain with the users for a while.

However, this can be remedied by manually entering the computer or mobile network settings, and changing the DNS to 8.8.4.4. or 8.8.8.8, writes The Verge.
