Cool convertibles become reality – this is how much the Polestar 6 costs

When Polestar showed off its cool roadster concept, many thought it was just “for show”, but that is not the case and now keen speculators can reserve a car. However, there is a long wait for a “6th”.

It was at the beginning of the year that Polestar showed off the O2 concept, a convertible that promised both performance and durability. It was all exciting, but the majority probably dismissed the concept as a dream car and vision – nothing intended for production. But hey, we got it.

– After the overwhelming response from consumers and the media, we made the decision to put this fantastic roadster into production and I am incredibly happy that it will become a reality, says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO in a statement.

The car, which is a roadster with a folding tin roof, is supposed to be built on Polestar’s epoxy-glued aluminum platform, technology developed further by the stickler himself, it should use the same basic technology as the already confirmed Polestar 5.

Polestar 6 can now be ordered

This means an 800V system, twin electric motors with a system output of 650 kW (884 horsepower) and 900 Nm of torque. This should provide acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and top speed restricted to 250 km/h.

So enough performance to last most people.

– Polestar 6 is a perfect combination of powerful electric performance and the wonderful feeling of driving with the roof down in the fresh air, says Thomas Ingelath.

Starting Tuesday, August 16, you can place an order, pay $25,000 and secure a production spot. But then there is a wait.

Production is supposed to start in 2026 – Polestar 3,4 and 5 will be dealt with first. Initially, 500 numbered “LA Concept editions” will be sold and if it tastes good, it will cost – preliminary price is set at 200,000 dollars, equivalent to two million kroner.
