Large investment in solar cells in southern Sweden
At the end of last year, Sweden’s total installed solar cell power was just over 1 GW. A new investment by Helios Nordic Energy can increase it by 50 percent.
Swedish Helios Nordic Energy is developing large-scale solar parks in the Nordic region. It is now clear that the company is making a new investment in solar cells in southern Sweden, tells PV Magazine.
This involves a total of 10 photovoltaic parks with a total capacity of just over 500 MW, which in that case would be a not so insignificant share of the total installed capacity in Sweden.
Helios Nordic Energy hopes to find suitable investors for four of these solar parks.
Statistics from the Swedish Energy Agency shows that the total installed capacity for grid-connected solar cells was just over 1,090 MW in 2020. This was a significant increase compared with the previous year, when the figure was 698 MW.
