With several new services launched in the past year and three strategic acquisitions in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Sweden, Proact continues to build on its already strong market position. Proact’s CEO Jonas Hasselberg expresses the importance of the company’s focus on solutions and services that help Proact’s customers accelerate their digitalisation journeys and drive more business value through IT.

Large parts of the world are undergoing a period of digital transformation accelerated by Covid-19. Data availability has become of paramount importance to those working from home due to the pandemic. But accessibility alone is not enough: for organizations to be able to ensure that teleworking is successful, the connection and security of their data must also be ensured.

As a result of this development, the demand for data management has increased exponentially. With these market changes, Proact occupies an interesting position in the current climate, a market change that fits like a glove for Proact as it has already discussed such a transition for many of its customers.

– We have a better position in the market now than ever before, says Hasselberg. “Our customers are on digital transformation journeys where data and information play a business-critical role, regardless of industry.”

In recent years, Proact customers have increasingly contacted the company with an ambition to use IT to drive innovation and business value. They often have clear goals regarding what they want to achieve and how these can be achieved with the help of data.

“This can range from improved business decisions based on better analysis of financial data, or enabling an improved customer experience as they more deeply understand their buyers’ journey. To increasing productivity in their factories as they use production data better,” explains Hasselberg.

A strategy under development

In light of this development, Proact has decided to utilize its long-term focus on data and management by expanding its expertise and broadening the range of products and services they offer.

“At the beginning of our company history, Proact was only a data storage company. We value this part of our business and are proud of the expertise we have built up here. As time and customer needs develop, there is much more related to data we can offer,” says Hasselberg and adds:

– For example, you can not store data without thinking about its security or how the connection affects, depending on where it is stored. Deriving value from the data we store is a natural journey for us. Through a strong collaboration with our customers and world-leading technology suppliers such as NetApp, VMware, Microsoft, Nvidia, Commvault, Veeam, Equinix and several others, we have a solid foundation when it comes to delivering business value.

It is about offering a combination of products, cloud services and first-class expertise such as consulting and support in areas that enable our customers to get more value from data and information. ”

Improvement through acquisitions and collaboration

With the changes in customer requirements, Proact naturally continuously develops its offering both through its own portfolio development and by acquiring organizations with cutting-edge expertise that expand their offering.

In addition, as a result of Covid-19, it has been seen that increased virtual collaboration across office and country borders within the Group and it has been found that the transfer of knowledge between regions and functions has been facilitated.

“This not only means that Proact can offer expertise and experience in a wide range of areas, but working together towards a common goal of strengthening our range of services also means that we can connect through a joint project. In this way, we also strengthen our brand further “, says Hasselberg.

Looking ahead

Hasselberg was appointed CEO of Proact in 2018 and has so far had an exciting and intense time. A lot of time has been spent planning for the company’s future. This has included expanding the competence within the company and using the insights gained during the pandemic to guide the organization’s development in certain areas.

“The pandemic has naturally affected us as a company. We have had to adapt our service offering to suit the new reality we all face. This opened up new opportunities for us to provide support with the help of our expertise in everything related to data and “This involves, among other things, securing storage and ensuring easy access to data for employees who work remotely,” says Hasselberg “.

Regardless of whether certain knowledge is required due to Proact’s development strategy or due to external circumstances such as the pandemic, expertise will continue to be a prerequisite for the organization to be able to offer a product or service.

“In a time of high innovation and different customer needs, it is important that we focus on what we have identified as our areas of expertise, rather than jumping on new trends where we are not yet experts,” emphasizes Hasselberg. “We are very proud of the products and services we offer with almost 30 years of experience and how quickly we expand our knowledge in focus areas such as managed cloud services.
